Utility Bill Support

This option operates in 3 tiers. It provides assistance to provide service interruption (electricity, water, heat, phone and internet) and help stabilize the household during times of need.

Our current tiers are:

Emergency Stabilization

This package includes:

  • Maximum of $50 in support

  • Limited to one (1) utility type

  • Proof of utility bill required

  • Proof of disconnection notice (if needed)

  • Must attend a budgeting virtual meeting

  • Must not have received bill support in the last 5 months

  • Photo ID required

  • Copy of receipt after payment

  • Proof of residency

  • Enrollment in a 90-day follow-up program

  • Access to dedicated crisis number if needed

  • Criminal record questionnaire

Household Support

This package includes:

  • Maximum of $30-$50 (per bill)

  • Limited to two (2) utility types

  • Proof of utility bills required

  • Proof of past-due/disconnection notice

  • At least one adult must be currently unemployed and/or receiving disability/other government support

  • Option to enroll in a formal utility payment plan

  • Proof of all household members (birth certificates/school records)

  • Negotiation with utility provider (optional)

  • Enrollment in a follow-up program

  • Must not have received bill support in the last 3 months

  • Access to a case manager for 60 days

  • Access to a dedicated crisis number if needed

  • Criminal record questionnaire

Crisis Resolution

This package includes:

  • Maximum of $50 (per bill)

  • Covers all utility types

  • Household size of 5+ or documented chronic illness requiring climate control

  • Long-term unemployment (5+ months) or documented disability status

  • Requires approval from supervisory staff

  • May receive aid within a 12-month period if a new crisis is documented

  • Full household budget review

  • Doctor's note (if medical crisis is a factor)

  • Proof of service interruption/status

  • Proof of utility bills required

  • Half coverage of restoration/reconnection fees (if applicable)

  • 1 year of financial counseling

  • 1 year assigned case manager

  • Assistance applying for government energy assistance programs (depends on state)

  • Access to a dedicated crisis number if needed

  • Criminal record questionnaire
